Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. And today we're taking a look at the tailor made removable dock post bumper. So this is going to allow you to dock in a new area, maybe somewhere that isn't your typical place, but still be able to protect your boat from any kind of scuffs and scratches from that post. So this will wrap around the dock post. It has two straps with a buckle.
So it's just your typical snap buckle there. Familiar with any backpack should be familiar with these. So let's just snap around and hold that in place. The outer coating of this or the outer fabric on it is a polyester. So it should be up to the task for being in the weather, the water for a long time, you can clean this by posing it down with a power washer or with something with a little bit of oomph, behind it.And then every year cleaning it with some soap and water, getting your brush in there should stay looking nice for a long time.
Inside it's going to have a closed cell foam. So the nice thing about that is that it's not going to hold on to any water and get mildewy and gross, but it's going to still provide that squish to soften the blow if your boat happens to bump into that pylon. The lengths for this is three feet in total or 36 inches. So it's going from edge to edge. The actual padded portion is about 33 and a half inches. The overall width is about four and a half inches going from the edge here to the other side.
But if we go from the fabric alone, it's about five and a half inches actually. And the height of that foam is about an inch and a half tall. The straps, whenever I pulled them out all the way to the very end of their fabric, going from that end of the fabric to the end of the buckle, it was 48 inches. So will it fit around something that's 48 inches in circumference Naturally, you'd be able to get out that length to it, but that is the total length of the strap. There is a little bit of stretch. I didn't have it fully stretched whenever I was doing that.
So you might be able to kind of coax it into 48 inches long. So just wanted to give you that measurement for that there. It is made in the USA. It's pretty easy to install. If you do want to use this permanently, you can always cut off the straps and then mount it with some hardware around the edge of that fabric. Using some hardware, the instructions do have a good guide to what hardware to use for different mounting surfaces. So they should be able to give you the information you need on that. That's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the tailor made removable dock post bumper. Hopefully this has been helpful in deciding that this is the right piece for you. If not, we do have some other options available here at etrailer.com. So check them out. Thanks for watching.
